Please keep in mind that we are not lawyers, so we cannot offer legal advice. However, we do think the law is reasonably clear as it relates to ARs. There have been several webinars presented by NRA and CRPA that discuss the law in detail as well.
One of Cross Armory’s signature products, the STOCK LOCK, allows AR-15 and AR-10 owners who wish to convert their rifles to featureless and remain compliant with California law to do so without replacing their buttstock.
Cross Armory’s STOCK LOCK accessory easily attaches to any buffer tube and not just at the pinholes. A locking arm attaches the buttstock to the STOCK LOCK collar causing the buttstock to become immovable. With this method, the adjustable stock turns into a fixed stock as required by various laws aimed at AR platform rifles throughout the country.
A featureless build no longer requires an AR style magazine lock (commonly referred to as an AR mag lock) or bullet button solution to be compliant with California law.
As with all of Cross Armory’s products, installation is simple and quick.
The STOCK LOCK is installed without any disassembly of any other features on your AR-15 or AR-10 and will not permanently alter the weapon. It can also be easily removed if the weapon is sold out of state or you move.
The advantage of STOCK LOCK over other fixed stock solutions is that STOCK LOCK can be installed at any point on the buffer tube. This allows the buttstock to be fixed in a position on the buttstock that is optimal for the individual gun owner. You will never have to “make do” with a stock length that isn’t perfect regardless of your reach or preference.
Again, this is not a legal representation. We recommend that all of our clients do their own research by reading the law and regulations.
