Sure, we’re a little late with this, but we thought it would be a great reminder for those who attended or read about it, or for those who missed the action at the 2017 NRA Annual Meetings in Atlanta.
Guns & Ammo came out with its list of Best New Products from the annual gathering highlighting weapons such as Ruger’s new Silent-SR 10/22 Takedown ISB to lighting and gun safes.
Without further adieu, here is a short recap courtesy Guns & Ammo.
Ruger’s New Silent-SR 10/22 Takedown ISB
One of the most popular introductions was Ruger’s new Silent-SR 10/22 Takedown ISB. “ISB” stands for Integrally Suppressed Barrel, which can be purchased as a complete rifle or as a barreled assembly that can be used with existing 10/22 Takedown models. This new suppressed system reduces sound pressure levels of standard .22LR ammo to less than 114 dB, making it safer for hearing protection and more enjoyable to shoot.
Springfield Armory Introduces the Hammer-Fired XD-E
The new Springfield Armory XD-E incorporates slim, 1-inch ergonomics and with an external hamer, a lighter recoil spring and ambidextrous manual safety system. The benefit of a hammer-fired XD is that racking the slide requires minimal effort — 27 percent less effort. This pistol offers a protective beavertail that, in conjunction with a high-grip triggerguard, affords a confidence-inspired grip. The double action (DA) trigger felt smooth and the single-action, hammer-cocked mode was crisp.
