Install takes minutes
First, remove the bullet button, magazine release bar and bullet button block. Then fit the SAFE MAG into the main magazine release bar. Remove the screw from the oval nut and insert the nut into the bullet or magazine release button. Insert the screw into the main body assembly and tighten with the hex key.
The next step is to tune the SAFE MAG in a compliant manner using the key. This is a subtle, yet critical part of installation.
Turning the key to the right (clockwise) prevents the magazine from being release without disassembly of the firearm action. It also decreases the tension on the magazine providing for a fixed magazine. Turning the key to the left (counter clockwise) increases tension on the magazine.

The SAFE MAG was engineered as a result of fierce backlash from local, state and federal politicians dubbing the AR-15 as having “evil features.”
When the upper and lower receivers are separated, the SAFE MAG automatically releases the magazine without pushing a button. It prevents the removal of the magazine from your AR-15 or M4 rifle without disassembly of the action through proper installation of the SAFE MAG.
