For years, AR-10 owners have used the “bullet button” to stay compliant. With the implementation of the new weapons laws, owners of AR-10 (.308) platforms have not had a solution designed specifically to work with their system in order to comply with the new California laws.
Thanks to Wes Cross, chief engineer and principal inventor at Cross Armory, such a solution now exists.
The “SAFE MAG .308” took over 6 months to design and test. There is no Mil-Spec AR-10 in existence and because of this, multiple different AR-10 style weapons systems have developed. The two products — the SAFE MAG .308 Aero and SAFE MAG .308 DPMS — are designed for a safe and easy magazine release and lock system specifically for DPMS and AERO AR-10/.308 weapon systems.
In addition, Cross also designed the patented QUICK PINS .308 to compliment the SAFE MAG .308. The QUICK PINS .308, similar to the QUICK PINS, replaces the existing rear takedown pin, while opening and locking automatically when the upper and lower receivers are closed.
Both the AR-15 QUICK PINS and AR-10/.308 QUICK PINS allow for convenient separation and locking of the receivers.
